Professional Development Workshops

We run a variety of fun, friendly, hands-on workshops for people working or volunteering in health, social services and education.

These workshops can be customised or developed specifically for clients, and delivered on-site or at a location we organise. They can be one or multiple days, and can be matched with supervision for teams or individuals.

Our approach to professional development is: Experiential and interactive learning, expertise led (not expert driven), creative, innovative, fun and practical.

Assessing and Planning in partnership with clients – For all workers who undertake assessment, planning and or/case management and who have an interest in enhancing collaborative working partnerships.  It looks at skills for completing assessment and plans with a client centred focus and utilises a strengths based assessment and planning tool designed by The Project Team.

Building Collaboration in our work (Collaborative Practice with clients and others) – For those who wish to develop their collaboration with clients and other agencies.  This workshop considers tools and strategies to enhance and develop interagency collaboration in order to support clients better.

Collaborative strengths-based approaches to practice – This three day workshop covers the principles skills and strategies commonly used within strengths-based and collaborative approaches to engaging and working with people.  It is geared for anyone across the helping professions.

Enhancing our supervision skills – This two day workshop is for anyone who has already attended our three day Essential Skills for Supervision workshop, (or already has a supervision qualification) and would like to further develop their skills and knowledge.  This workshop will involve practising the skills we use in our supervision practice.

Essential Skills for Supervision (A strengths-based and collaborative approach) – For those supervising or looking at a supervision role in the health, social service and education sectors as a youth worker, nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, counselor, RTLB, youth worker, team leader or in some other helping profession; and looking to develop skills for working in supervision in a collaborative and strengths-based way.

Ethical practice in Supervision (encouraging morally just practice) – For anyone who wishes to explore tools and strategies to support ethical conversations in supervision

Facilitation Skills (a collaborative framework for working with groups in a skillful and effective way) – For anyone who wishes to develop and grow their skills for facilitating groups and meetings.  A strengths based approach will be considered specifically in this workshop.

Skills and strategies for Peer Group and Team supervision – For anyone who in currently involved, or likely to be involved in peer, group or team supervision.

Strengths-based leadership and management – For anyone who is in, or aspiring to be in a leadership or management role within their organisation, and wishing to recognise and enhance the strengths and skills of their team.

Working effectively in supervision – For anyone who in currently involved, or likely to be involved in supervision as a supervisee or as a supervisor.

Working ethically – For anyone who is interested in developing their frameworks for ethical practice
